Originally developed to top our favorite Detroit Style Pan Pizza, this easy pizza sauce comes together in a snap. It also freezes well, to have on hand for later!
Pizza Sauce
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 28 oz can crushed tomatoes
- 2 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp oregano
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1/2 tsp kosher salt, or to taste
Instructions
- In a small sauce pan on medium heat sauté the garlic in the olive oil for one minute, or until very lightly toasted.
- Combine all remaining ingredients and bring to a low simmer. Cook for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Use to top your favorite pizzas. Store any remaining sauce in the refrigerator for one week, or freeze to enjoy later.
